Born and raised in Texas from two Ranching famiies, we are a 3rd and 4th generation team between me and my son Kendall. We moved West to live with less traffic and people in the mountainous region of New Mexico. We live up at 7,000 feet elevation on an 11,000 foot mountain where the birds must be smart to avoid falcons and navigate the mountain passes. I started with pigeons with my father in 1967. My grandfather also had pigeons. We fly in one loft races almost exclusively these days.....and not very many. We have 12 pair of breeding pigeons and rarely more than 85 pigeons on the property during breeding season. Our base pigeons go back to Helmut & Alfons Klaas. We added winners from SAMDPR, Porsche family, and Kittel family. We race in about 5 or 6 one loft races in the USA. We also participate in AfrikaPro, Pataya (new), and Thailand Masters (new). We prefer 400 mile races but 350 to 400 is good. If the pigeons are coming good from 250-400 we like them. If they are ace pigeons that finish high on the final we love them.
