Terms and Conditions
- Application and Shipping
1.1 Objective: The organizers aim to bring together the world's top pigeon fanciers in a One-Loft Series, ensuring a level playing field for all participants.
1.2 Application Process: Applicants are required to complete their application on the website by filling out an electronic form that prompts them for the necessary information. Alternatively, applicants can apply through the representative country agent.
1.3 Information and Rules: Upon completing the form, the applicant will be contacted and provided with more information and detailed rules.
1.4 Eligible Pigeons: Only pigeons born between September 2023 and January 2024, and equipped with official 2023/2024 rings or bands, qualify for entry. Pigeons that have shed their 3rd primary flight before entering the AFRIKAPRO loft will not be eligible for participation. Additionally, each pigeon may only compete in the race for a single season.
1.5 Prohibited Previously Raced Pigeons: Pigeons that have been raced or trained previously are not allowed, and any such entries will be disqualified.
1.6 Intake Period: The intake period for South African fanciers will be from November 1, 2023, to February 20, 2024. Overseas fanciers can send pigeons until the last shipment on February 20, 2024.
1.7 Top-Up Option: Fanciers have the option to add pigeons to their team as long as it is within the intake period.
1.8 Local South African Shipping: Collection and shipping of South African pigeons will be handled by local courier companies, delivering pigeons to Pretoria and OR Thambo on a weekly basis. Associated costs are the responsibility of the participant.
1.9 Foreign Participants Shipping: Foreign participants are responsible for shipping their pigeons to their respective country agents. Details for country agents can be found on the AFRIKAPRO website.
1.10 Quarantine and Vaccination: Shipping and foreign-country quarantine costs are the responsibility of the participant. Pigeons sent to collection/shipping agents must be vaccinated for Pigeon Pox, Paramyxovirus, and Newcastle Disease at least 10 days before shipping. All participants are strongly recommended to vaccinate their pigeons twice, with the first vaccination at 3 weeks and the second at 6 weeks of age.
1.11 Maximum Entries: Each registered fancier is limited to two teams with no more than 20 pigeons per overseas team. Participants can send a maximum of 40 pigeons to the AFRIKAPRO loft.
1.12 Quarantine Period: Upon arrival at the AFRIKAPRO Loft, the organizer's training team will inspect all pigeons, and all pigeons will undergo a 28-day quarantine.
1.13 Registration Requirement: No pigeons will be allowed into the AFRIKAPRO loft for intake without a completed registration form.
1.14 Ownership Transfer: Ownership of pigeons will transfer to the organizers once they are accepted into the AFRIKAPRO Loft.
1.15 Ring Encapsulation: Each pigeon's registration ring will be encapsulated to keep the ring number and identity of pigeons hidden from the training staff throughout the series.
1.16 Organizer's Discretion: The care, training, and racing methods will be at the sole discretion of the organisers.

Overseas participants who bred their pigeons overseas can enter a maximum of 20 pigeons per team, while fanciers who bred their pigeons locally can enter a maximum of 15 pigeons per team. All information regarding syndicate/team formation must be communicated to [email protected] promptly.
3.4 Admission Fee: An admission fee of $5,000 is due upon intake when the first pigeons arrive at the AFRIKAPRO loft.
3.5 Activation Fee: An activation fee of US$10,000 is payable for your team of pigeons within 5 days after the activation race, regardless of the number of pigeons returning from the activation race in your team.

7.1.6 The prize money described is guaranteed as stipulated above unless Force Majeure is declared.
- Force Majeure
8.1 In this clause, "Event of Force Majeure" means an event beyond the control of the organisers or the participant, which prevents either party from complying with any of its obligations under this Contract, including but not limited to:
8.1.1 An Act of God (such as but not limited to fires, explosions, earthquakes, drought, tidal waves and floods);
8.1.2 war, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), invasion, the act of foreign enemies, mobilisation, requisition, or embargo;
8.1.3 rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power, or civil war;
8.1.4 riot, commotion, strikes, lock outs or disorder unless solely restricted to employees of the Supplier or of his Sub-contractors; or
8.1.5 boycotting by participants or agents or employees or
8.1.6 pandemics, widespread or localised disease outbreaks, a shutdown of air traffic; or
8.1.7 acts or threats of terrorism; or
8.1.8 veterinary restrictions
8.1.9 A smash race where less than 10% of pigeons returned after the 5th day of liberation.
8.2 Suppose Force Majeure is declared at any time before Race 5. In that case, the participant shall be given the option to be paid a full refund or receive a credit for activations for the following race season.
8.3 In the event of Force Majeure being declared after Race 5, the organisers will pay out the prize money and refund the participants' activation fee as follows:
8.3.1 After Race 5 but before Race 6 – 50% of the prize money will be paid out, and 50% of the activation fee will be refunded.
8.3.2 After Race 6 but before Race 7 – 60% of the prize money will be paid out, and 40% of the activation fee will be refunded.
8.3.3 After Race 7 but before Race 8 – 70% of the prize money will be paid out, and 30% of the activation fee will be refunded.
8.3.4 After Race 8 but before Race 9 – 80% of the prize money will be paid out, and 20% of the activation fee will be refunded.
8.3.5 After Race 9 but before Race 10 (The Final Race) – 90% of the prize money will be paid out, and 10% of the activation fee will be refunded.
- Auctions of Pigeons
9.1 All pigeons returning from the final race will be sold by live, virtual, or online auctions. After the auction commission has been paid, the auction proceeds and expenses will be split 50% to the participant and 50% to the organisers unless the participant supplies no pedigrees; the organiser will receive 100% of the proceeds.
9.2 All participants must upload the pedigrees of all their remaining pigeons in their AFRIKAPRO fancier portal before the final race. Any participant who fails to comply with this clause will forfeit any proceeds from the post-race auctions.
9.3 Standard auction rules will apply, and the buyer must pay the auction amount to the organisers within 73 hours of the close of the auction.
9.4 All expenses related to housing and shipping pigeons bought on the auctions will be for the buyer's account.
The above terms and conditions and the application form on the AFRIKAPRO website constitute the agreement between the organisers and the participant. Any dispute will be resolved subject to the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change by AFRIKAPRO organizers without prior notice. Entrants are responsible for staying informed about any updates or modifications to these Terms. By entering the Series, Entrants acknowledge that they have read and agree to comply with these Terms.
